NS Continuous Furling Softline

Continuous Furling Line NS Soft 8mm is a pre-spliced rope with a ball bearing block on a bungee cord for stanchion or pushpit mounting. Such an endless line is required to operate any Code Zero or Spinnaker (Gennaker) furling systems. The length of the required kit depends on your boat size and a furler drum.

The bungee block with a carabiner is meant to keep the whole system in tension for smooth furler operation. When you are using regular NS38 ball bearing block, it is advisable to add velcro stripes to the clew sail corner which will help to hold furled sail more tightly. The even better alternative is a ratchet block with an internal stopper mechanism.

To calculate the required length of the endless rope kit you need to measure the distance from the spinnaker furler attachment point along the rubrail to the pushpit (or any other desired location on the boat). While choosing the length of the furling line kit, it is important to keep in mind that you need a bit of an excess rope on furler drum and a block (about 0.2 m). Moreover, the bungee cord stretches becoming 20-30% longer so the rope loop should be shorter to compensate this.

NS Continuous Furling Line kit includes the pre-spliced rope with the ball bearing aluminium block NS38 on the bungee cord with the stainless steel carabiner.
